Why Symbiotic relationships is our favorite topic
I think relationships are a good topic to learn about because its very interesting , most people think that there is only one type of relationship but that's not true. There are three categories which are mutualism , parasitism and commensalism.
I think symbiotic relationships is a good topic to talk about because its nice to learn about animals and and all the types of ways how they live and interact and also its cool how they can survive places. Relationships Commensalism, commensalism is the relationship when one animal benefits and the other is not harmed. One example is a bird living in a tree the bird has a place to live while the tree is not harmed or helped.
Mutualism , Mutualism is when both animals benefit from the activity to one another. An example of mutualism would be Bees pollinate apple trees. The bees get food and the apple trees get pollinated. neither are harmed and both are happy! Parastism, (para)sitism = (para)site. parasites usually feed off their host. Parasitism is the relationship between two organism where one benefits off the other and the other is harmed. For example dog with fleas. The fleas feeds off dog. the fleas gets food while the dog is harmed and slowly. Predation, (Pred)ation = (pred)ator Predation is not a symbiotic relationship but it is a relationship. predation is the interaction where the predator feeds off the prey. Example: lion and a Zebra . The lion is the predator it eats off of the zebra which is the prey and the zebra dies. Competition, competition also is not a symbiotic relationship. Its the interaction when animals are in need of something like food ,shelter, water etc. so they fight for it. For Example two antelope fighting for a mate. |
What is symbiosis?
Symbiosis: the process between two or more biological species; is the base word of symbiotic, that gets us back to the realtionships commensalism , paratism , commensalism , predation and competition.
