Fossil Fuels
By A. Griffin and O. Jones
Fossil fuels are nonrenewable materials like oil gas and coal. These have been formed by remains of prehistoric plants and animals. The burning of fossil fuels is a huge threat to our environment everyday. Although it does harm the environment there are still advantages. They are readily available since science and technology are so advanced now. They produce big amounts of energy very easily. This energy is used for all machines, vehicles. and devices to power them and keep them working. Also, fossil fuels are usually at low prices and transportation isn't a huge problem. Since fossil fuels do harm the environment there are lots more disadvantages that are included. A major disadvantage is pollution. When the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide is released is causes global warming to happen. Then of course all of global warmings disadvantages come along too. Another negative effect is humans health because the pollution is eating away at the ozone layer. When this happens UV rays are able to reach us and then cause cancer or other things. The nonrenewable is at risk of being depleted and lots of huge accidents happen. Things such as the oil spill and it killed a large amount of aquatic life. Then to maintain the places they are stored a lot of worker are needed and it takes a big toll on there health. A way to resolve all of these problems is to conserve fossil fuels. There's many ways everyone can contribute to doing this. They can do things like use electric cars and use reusable items. These are both a few of many simple things you can do to make a change.
We like fossil fuels because they help give us electricity that power our iphones and tv. Some energy resources are renewable and are rising in popularity.
